Calming Down

I'm getting a late start on this one. A few things happened, and if I was able to I would have posted them as they happened. When we got back from Atlanta and opened the doors to our house we noticed that the A/C was out. Fine. Georgia heat made us get a hotel but when we went to check on the A/C units. Both of them were fried. Completely unresponsive, had to have someone come in and replace a few parts. They think the units both got hit by lightning. Sure. I live on a lake. Lightning happens. Not quite sure why it struck the fairly grounded A/C units but whatever. The A/C units are by my far window. Hm. What's really tall that I know that could be stalking me without me noticing? I wonder if Lightning strikes even slow the bastard down?

Also. Our dock was torn up. To shreds. Granted it was a pile of crap but that kind of damage doesn't inflict itself unless there's some kind of river whale that I'm not aware of. We've got someone fixing it, making it nicer than it was but that was crazy to say the least. Anyway I talked Dad into letting me come with him to drop my cousins off at their home in Florida because we haven't had enough driving to do. That went off well, normal stuff and all that, nothing out of the ordinary chased us. There was some rain out of no where but it's Florida, that comes with the turf.

Anyway I've been resting from all the bloody driving. My spine is not built for that kind of activity. We had a nice little fourth of July celebration. Went out on the town. They shot fireworks off by where we live yesterday, which was cool until hour 3 when I wanted to go to sleep. I didn't personally get to set any fireworks off but that's probably for the best given my pyromania and what happened...

Regardless, This is coming in much later than normal. But thankfully things have settled down. I'm planning on going into town and getting that book everyone keeps telling me about. House of Leaves I think. I had gotten one called Zombie Apocalypse by Stephen Jones. It was a good read. Gonna try to keep myself from reviewing everything I ever do in this blog.

On a Trilogy related note, I've started back up on the Journal again. I had writer's block something fierce but I've managed to shake it off for the most part. I wasn't sure how to have the mentor react to the death of a character. In the book I just had him slink off and be out of focus but I can't do that in a journal written by him. In the end I think it worked out ok. I just had to settle with writing shorter entries. I'm up to Entry 18 now, almost 100 pages in. Pretty sure there will be something around 30 Entries in total, maybe a bit more. At least, 30 Entries for the events of the first book.

Maybe I should start naming these characters for you guys. There's always next Friday, er... This Friday.

Huzzah! Second post!

So, I've decided to try and update this thing once a week. Seems easy enough, until I run out of things to talk about. I do realize technically I've missed my set Friday update but my own personal hell cropped up to stop me from updating.

I have been having internet problems lately and my computer may have caught some kind of virus. If freaky things start happening with a girl in a well or a tree that is a man you guys are never going to see me online again. Probably because I'll be dead or something... Oh! Also, stupid thunder storm just knocked my power out for a good few hours. After watching Marble Hornets I couldn't even look NEAR the windows until the lights came on and I was greeted by my own reflection.

In real life news I have 2 cousins coming over to stay for a few weeks for the summer. They're really fun, almost clones of me, which is terrifying but thrilling. They came over 2 summers ago and hung out here for a month. I think they're 15 and 12? Could be a year older than that.

This has also brought up the problem of my mother being a clean freak when family comes over. I've been cleaning for about 18 hours straight at this point. I found out she will clean through a power outage, by candle light.

So. I guess I should elaborate a bit more on my books that I talked about a lot in that first post. I haven't written much more in the journal, started the next "Chapter" but haven't gotten very far. Distracted by having to remove every god damn sub-atomic particle of dirt from my floor. I can see my reflection, in concrete I think it's clean.

I'll start with the setting in this post, I'm going to stretch the hell out of this so I can cover days when my rantings have run low. I could say I used Norse Mythology as a backdrop. But really? I looked at Norse Mythology, thought it was cool, and slapped a few names on things and did my own thing. I need to be more original I guess. Anyway we have Asgard, the place the Gods live in, as the crazed highly militarized paradise that it usually is. The main characters are of Angel decent and the mentor one I mentioned is one of the oldest angels alive, termed an Ancient One. Then we have Midgard, the place where most of the story happens. Midgard is in danger of being reworked from a plane of existence to a weapon by the Antagonist. Angels, including the Ancient one, are sent down to keep him off of it, and maybe kill him. Then we have Helheim, the home of all the demons and such the Antagonist gets his legions of soldiers from. Oh, and The In-between, a part of the universe that isn't exactly IN the universe, where the Antagonist lives, making it hard to storm his castle and kill him.

Also making it hard to kill him, he's got perfect immortality, can only be mildly annoyed rather than killed, and the number of people capable of fighting one on one him can be counted on one hand.

That's a ramble for next Friday however.

Peace.
